1.
You're looking taller lately, you've got raw power lately. I reached my hand across, right in plain view, I felt that power come through. I got my halogen, I got out my pastels, and I put your figure to the paper, I put your figure to the paper. It was soft and white, smooth and yellow, the dust gathered around your head like a halo. The hot light cutting through all the darkness in that upstairs room... I think I'm so in love with you.
2.
Waiting Song 01:54
I've been waiting for you, look what I've made with the parts that you left, and the friends that I've made. I brought them to the darkest places that they've ever seen... some of you know what I mean. I've been waiting for you, I got so much done. And now I will stand and shower and bask when the Spring rain comes. Because you brought me to the darkest places that I've ever seen... thankfully, I know what they mean.
3.
Prayer Song 01:15
Lay hands on me, lay hands on me. Lend me your healing touch, then maybe I won't hurt so much. Lay hands on me. Just do what you have to do, and I will do my best to believe in magic with you. I will open up my mouth and eyes, and let the Holy Spirit inside...
4.
Bus Song #4 02:18
Down in front of the Wilson Building, I saw the true face of despair. They had wraparounds, a stick and poke, and three different colors in their hair. Heard the footsteps rise in volume behind me, felt the eyes all dart my way. I heard a commotion by the boarded up deli, well, I will go down today. I will go down today. And down by the lineup, the birds don't sing anymore, and down outside my window, the birds never left for the Winter. I see you kick up your kickstand, I see you trying to hustle people walking by. I see the birds reconfigure their flight patterns, I see us die, I see us all die... I see us all die... I see us all... C.I.A.
5.
River Song 01:49
Rivers and bodies and bodies of water, they intersect and flow. How will I know what to say when I can't communicate in human ways? The mouth of the river invites me in, your mouth and hands invite new sin, how will I know what to do? I've gotta keep an eye on you... Unspoken worlds, don't get caught. Unspoken skills, take account of what you've got. Oh friends, old friends, new friends, please don't get shot.
6.
Bus Song #6 01:48
There are people on all sides of me, so I shift my center of gravity, look around for a free spot, and count my teeth with my tongue. My right eye starts to twitch again, Vitamin Water isn't medicine. I feel a bit tired, I feel the rumble of the pavement underneath the tires, and all the old world knowledge is just myth to us and empty fodder for history buffs. And there's a picture of the city on my bedroom floor of how we'd like to imagine it a hundred years before, but nothing's changed. Nothing has changed. Nothing has changed.
7.
I ran my fingers through your hair, nothing happened. I put my hand upon your thigh, and the gods didn't strike me dead. But when you placed your tongue in between my lips, the fates, they took notice and they didn't like it... Winter came, we took to cooking and kissing and keeping our clothes on most of the time. And who's to blame for the times that we didn't? And who's to say that we're not better off this way? I'll tell you one thing, it's not me.
8.
Garden Song 02:15
I pulled you up by the stem and examined your roots. Soft soil offered up itself beneath my boots, I will watch my garden grow, you have won't have a say anymore. Bitter sweat starts to form around my lips, and when I hear them coming I can feel the earth give. I can feel it give, I can feel it give, I can feel it give. I can feel it... I am pruning back what has gone too far, and when you finally come to see me I'll be gone so far away, so far away, you won't have a say. So far away, you won't have a say anymore.
9.
Spring Song 02:19
This will be the best one yet... I've got this blurry sense of accomplishment. The seeds went into soil five or six weeks ago, and the sun is poking fingers through the blinds of my window. You wake up late to the sound of wood storks, and I phone in with my daily report of espionage and fits of depression, I am once again learning this same lesson. I am learning lessons, I am learning lessons, I am learning lessons, always learning lessons... I am warmed and welcomed in the outdoors now, the shakes in my spine seem to have quieted down, but the shakes in my brain still filter through... I will save the worst of them for you. I think of you now and I know you're ready, and I'd love to come along, if you'd let me. But there's so much to do before that time comes, my mind swells and pounds like an ancient drum... I am learning lessons, you are biding your time, we are sharpening skills until it's time to die.
10.
And I know that you know the ways of the world and I know that you know the ways of a girl, and you've got it all tied up in this lovely package. And you deliver yourself again and again, all the rage that you hold in your pale little hand, will you set it for a moment at the bedside? And you moan and wail like a ghost impaled, like someone who thought themselves transparent. And your idea that this doesn't have to end will carry all your children to their graves. And the black gum trees turn into the docks and the wharves that you stand on when you see me off, and the starlings waste away now in the winter. And the ones that were left flew down to the coast, and they nested themselves in the motors of boats, and the engines of planes in revenge for the controlled killings. And your idea that you hold nature in your hands, it chokes their lives in ways you can't imagine. And there are hands that move, to bring around your doom, and the waters will flow freely on your grave.
11.
Bus Song #5 01:43
There are new pains in me every day, my neck throbs and my limbs all ache. The pavement is torn up as far as I can see, and the 116 is coming for me. And the streets fell silent for three seconds, it took one second for the echoes to stop, one second for the birds to chirp, and one more second for my teeth to hurt... and the people on the bus, there were mourning the deaths of Jesus Christ, and the passing of old and reliable cars. And the cogs all spun and screamed, but ever so quiet, and ever so slightly, they were all tearing themselves apart. And I was once sad to see them go, but you can't save everyone you know. And I was once sad to see all of you go, but you can't save everyone you know.
12.
Ghost Song 03:13
Would it be alright if we didn't talk much? Would it be alright if you didn't sleep in my bed? Would it be alright if I just drove this fucking car right off the road? Would it be alright? Would it be alright? Would it be alright? This lover calms the darkness, this lover comes and goes and ghosts will tear you apart, and ghosts will tear you to shreds, and flesh will fall off from your bones, they won't leave you alone, they won't leave you alone...
